Fiji

Just off Australia’s east coast lies the island nation of Fiji, one of the most popular tropical travel destinations anywhere in the world. The island nation is comprised of over 300 islands and is a place where people of all tastes can find exactly what they’re looking for.

Fiji is much more than a honeymoon destination or a weekend getaway. There is a ton of culture to appreciate here. For starters, Fijians are considered to be the happiest people on the planet. They’re always excited to show people their cultures and customs. From Kava ceremonies and fire-walking to the Hindu Snake Temple and Spice Market, visitors will feel like locals in no time whatsoever.

On top of these things, there is no shortage of breathtaking scenery, both on land and sea, to enjoy. Bouma National Heritage Park is one of the most spectacular nature reserves in any of the southern Pacific nations. Here, you can snorkel in crystal clear water, take a relaxing walk on the beach, or even hike your way to one of the many waterfalls. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of some of the 150 species of birds that call Fiji home.
