Located in West Africa around countries like Benin and Ghana, Togo has been getting a lot more attention as a tourist destination. What was once a relatively unknown country has started seeing more of an upward trend in visits from foreign countries.

Although Togo has only a couple hundred miles of coastline, it has some of the most beautiful beaches on the continent. Everything from white sand to the light blue water make it a tropical paradise. Also, remember when we said that tourism is increasing, but isn’t quite there yet? So, there’s a good chance you won’t be on a crowded beach. Also, if you show up early enough, you may even have it all to yourself.

Also, a person can’t have a vacation in Togo without visiting the capital city of Lome. This is where the country comes to life. There are stores selling various crafts and homemade art, museums showcasing everything from West African Jewelery to masks and musical instruments, and restaurants that provide some of the best food found anywhere in Africa.

Visitors can also get out and visit Fazao-Malfakassa National Park, which is situated on the western border with Ghana. From primates to incredible flora, it makes for a great day trip, perfect for hiking.
